Project demonstrates our woodworking, milling and trim carpentry skills. These built in custom display cabinets were made in the shop, then field installed. The hand made glass doors were produced with a bit of intentional wabi-sabi. We were looking for the warmth of days gone by when moldings were produced with hand planes. Before water mill factories and the now ever popular CNC machines. The custom made fireplace mantle was built on site using traditional trim carpentry skills. Crown moulding and baseboard was added around the room to tie in the custom built-in unit and room. This custom cabinetry unit includes older rope lighting which highlights the dark side of the room. LED lighting might be used today but this project was a few years ago. The paneled pass though leads into the living room where we manufactured more built-in cabinets and library shelving.
This residential remodeling project also include built-in library shelving, hidden TV cabinet with hidden media storage which can be seen here on the living room project page. Entrance to this lovely home was adorned with a custom handrail system, wall wainscoting, ceiling and wall trim moldings which can be viewed on the custom railing project page.
