Color Core Medium Density Fiberboard is a through-color wood fiber panel product. We consider a solution nested between an MDF and solid surface. It is a low VOC product. With the color continuing constantly all the way though the material with no pattern or grain. Also known as "Though-Color" material. This product can be milled into shapes, parts or panels that require not post processing such as painting or decals. We have found color-core MDF bends nicely for curve lamination along with having minimum toxicity. During CNC milling to hand sanding the material seems to be a bit denser than standard MDF making reduced dust. When milling MDF we use a .25" compression end mill. Our color core MDF is manufactured by ForesColor. More on this kiosk prototyping project here.
